Would you classify combat in the Wheel of Time universe as cinematic? Obviously there are some cinematic elements in many of the combat scenes throughout the books, but when I say "cinematic," I mean "flying in the face of realism."
Can anyone recount a scene where a character survived an injury that realistically would have killed him, but didn't? Other than Mat? I can vividly remember a few scenes where Aes Sedai employ lightning and fireballs against shadowspawn, but was there ever a scene where a character was struck by a fireball or a bolt of lightning and not killed outright?
When I stop to look back at the Wheel of Time saga, I remember a great deal of epic fights. Rand and Asmodean, Moghedien and Nynaeve, the Battle of Dumai's Wells, the Battle of Shadar Logoth, and more recent battles between Perrin and Slayer or Mesaana and Egwene. While I certainly remember most of these battles to be a little over the top, none of them struck me as completely implausible.
If you had to rate the level of cinematic reality in the Wheel of Time, where would you gauge it? What were some of your favorite cinematic moments?

I find all of the non-channeling related combat implausible and over-dramatic

The aftermath - but I don't think he really showed the chaos on a battlefield that well

I think it does make them unrealistic. Stylistic choices determine how these scenes are conveyed.
