Could this be Rodel Ituralde?

I believe this to be Jain Farstrider (Noal Charin). It many societies, in WoT as well, the wolf is considered to be a lone animal. As no one knows much about the legendary hero beyond the stories passed between those who've had chance encounters with him, his isolation from society could lead him to be considered like a lone wolf. His sacrifice in the ToM could confirm the prophecy. As news of his death will likely surface at some point, perhaps in a ballad by Thom, those who have come to draw hope and courage from the stories of his heroic and dangerous exploits could have those hopes shattered and their will devastated. For instance, if Superman were real, how would the world deal with the news of his death? Similar situation in this. The knowledge that the legendary hero, Jain Farstrider, is dead, could cause a ripple in the resolve of the people of the land, most notably the Borderlands.
