The most urgent thing Rand could have done while toting the Choedan Kal, would have been to erase the Seanchan threat from Randland, erase every living Shadowspawn from the planet using that same weave he used in the Stone of Tear to seek out and destroy Shadowspawn, and to put the White Tower in its place.

As well as removing anyone or anything else that could possibly stand in the way of the Light.

THEN he should have had his revelation on Dragonmount to go off to face the Dark One meek as a lamb.

At least the rest of the world's problems would have been solved, given that there would be no more Seanchan threat, no more Trollocs on the planet and no more of anything remotely threatening, other than the Dark One himself, who Rand could then defeat by being a good boy and dying like he is supposed to according to prophecy.

Which brings me to my next question that I was debating whether to post in a new thread. Guess this one will do.

Am I the only one who thinks that getting rid of the sha'angreal was premature and even irresponsible? The motivation for it was certainly valid, but maybe a couple of weeks and several million dead Trollocs (and stuff) later would have been a better time to do it.

Why not eliminate an imminent threat? That's why the things were built in the first place - to break the Shadow's spine quickly and decisively and during this round the Light has control of at least one of them.

Even if Rand has gotten all paternal on humanity and wants them to appreciate the danger and the victory, he could still attend every major battlefield and wipe out a couple of hundred K Trollocs and leave the rest to the armies - as he has already done before (Eye of The World Tarwin's Gap battle).

As to your suggestions on the Seanchan and White Tower, that's a no no for obvious reasons - good guys don't win this way (I'll admit my petty side also wants the Seanchans's butt kicked).

So, essentially, Rand should have done the DO's work before destroying him? - 12/05/2011 09:43:44 PM 702 Views

What Rand did to clear out the trollocs in TOM was plenty big enough to do what you suggest. - 12/05/2011 05:14:40 PM 751 Views
