It's really hard for me to see how Perrin can be painted as the bad guy at any point in what's still a pretty unhealthy relationship. Faile's a classic rabbit boiler; it's a good thing Perrin didn't have any serious exes in the Two Rivers or she'd probably have found a shallow grave for each of them (IIRC she still spared a glare for some girl Perrin had played slap and tickle with despite the fact the woman was married and pregnant with a second child). That she was playing games while Perrin was going home to try saving his family and probably die in the attempt makes it that much worse. It's especially hard to see Perrin as the guilty party in their EARLY relationship because she's gotten better (relatively) while he's gotten worse as the series progressed.
