That honour goes to Galad and Berelain, who apparently literally fell in love at first sight with nary even a word exchanged. Apparently the first time each saw the other every single braincell drained out of their heads, leaving two previously interesting characters as starstruck dribbling morons. I mean, Galad perhaps, he wouldn't know an emotion if it bit him, but Berelain? Driven, political, cynical Berelain, one of the few characters in the series who gives us political realities? I was disappointed.
For what it's worth, if the world of WoT didn't have fairytale-romance-by-default, I'd bet on Gawyn and Egwene not lasting as a couple. Egwene isn't interested in people she can't use, and Gawyn is easily the most inconsistent character in the series - every major decision he's ever made, he's betrayed, or gone back on. Even by becoming Egwene's Warder, he's betrayed his first and most basic duty - to Andor, and his sister, as First Prince of the Sword, or whatever other role she wants him in. Gawyn is the brother of a reigning monarch and he is simply not free to make the decision to become a Warder, or marry as he likes. That was the price of his birth and privilege. If Elayne and her children were to die, would the line carry on through him? Meaning Andor would become even more of a White Tower vassal than it already is? Did he ever once consider this? I don't remember reading it if he did.
Though re their life together - BS has confirmed that Egwene's viewing of Gawyn's two paths - long life or violent death - has been resolved. It amuses me to think that by choosing the bond, he's actually chosen the violent death, though neither knows it yet. Maybe the next Seanchan attack will be a crushing victory, all the Aes Sedai will be collared or killed, the Tower will be razed to the ground, and Gawyn will die when he tries to free Egwene, only to find she's been damane-brainwashed and tears him to bits.
Hm. Morbid
Egwene vs. Gawyn (ToM spoilers of course)

Which was why I thought it was appropriate, since he meant to act as Egwene's Warder.

The only issue is that Warders are not minions - they are honored junior partners.

No, the junior partners are Accepted. Warders are essentially personal bodyguards and/or assistants.

Accepted are not anything, let alone junior partners. Don't think N&E's experience was typical
