Would it kill TOR to have someone take 3 days to read through it slowly to find all the major typo's?
Three days is far from enough for line editing or galley revisions - typos could have been found during both processes (as they had Team Jordan's Maria do all the line edits, more people proofed the galleys in parallel, incl. the writer.. all least it was like that for TGS) but yeah, I agree the manuscript of TOM required extra work to reach a publishable state (and that is leaving aside the book could have used at least one if not two more passes of creative tweaks and revisions - the writing was still very rough in many places), and it was very unprofessional/unethical of Tor to send something like that to the presses and make people pay for this.
But they did, and they'll probably do it again with the next one.
They correct all this for the PB, but so much for their respect for those who buy their HB....
