If I would have known, before I posted this, that it would fluster people the way it did I wouldn't have bothered. I just thought it was interesting to look at a character in a different light. Frankly I would like to see a character who we "knew" was a good guy turn out to be a bad guy. It would at least tell me the shadow isn't completely inept. Along those lines maybe Thom is a good guy working for the shadow because he thinks the DO can help him get Owen back. It would definitely add some depth to the story (again, I know this is crazy and I don’t believe it).
In any case I think you have to laugh at the silliness, then give yourself a minute to actually entertain the idea, it is interesting (and fun) to think about things in a different light.
