The only person who can positivly identify Granedal is Asmodean as far as she knows. Even if all of Rand's followers were given a description how many women are out there who are blond and well endowed and look past their twenties but not yet old? That could describe half of the woman in Andor who favour light coloured hair?

The point is that Granedal probably figured that unless she started doing some stupid like blasting away at the halls and anyone there while waving her hands around like a modern Aes Sedia what is the chances she will run into the one man who can identify her?

The best time to go on a scouting mission to the city was exactly that moment. Rand had just killed Rahvin, the palace was in chaos. There were people running everywhere to get away with new faces presumably brought in by Rand. Give it a few days and things will settle down but for that brief window of opportunity any of the native Andorans are probably too concerned on whether to run away from Rand or to stay in their rooms until things settled down or should they approach the dragon to worry about one unfamiliar face in the hall ways.

Anyone with Rand on the other hand are mostly strangers. If they see a strange woman well... if she is dressed as a servant she is probably a servant. If she is better dressed she is probably some minor noble. It is the palace afterall.

Did Granedal know that Rahvin had anything worth stealing? Probably she was not certain. Sammael showed off his toys to her but all the forsaken were looking for angreal or useful ter'angreal. The only way to know for certain is to have a look in his rooms. Rahvin never showed any signs of having a male angreal but what if he had stumbled over a female angreal? He would not have it on him as it was useless to him but not to Granedal.

I would think that the hunt for AOL toys was a secondary priority to Granedal. Think about it. She joined up with Lanfear, Rahvin and Sammael to trap Rand. Suddenly Lanfear has gone AWOL but rumours say Rand was last seen near her. Then Rahvin is killed. I don't know but if that was me and I was part of that group I would be giving some serious thought to Rand having found out about the little plan and dealing with those invovled one at a time before they can join up and take him together.

So if I was Graendal I would want to know did Rand find out about the scheme? If he did does he know where I hang out and will be be comming for me next or is Sammael the target. I can't just sit around waiting to be attacked. Rand is stronger that Graendal and we have seen enough of her pov's to know that she respects his strenght.

If she waits too long she runs the risk of waking up one morning to find Rand waiting at the end of her bed and thats assuming that he does not simply show up in the middle of the night lobbing around balefire as if its going out of fashion.

The only way she could find out what exactly happened and what Rand knows is to go in person to the scene and try to keep a low profile while gathering some info. Unfortunatly for Asmodean he stumbled across her and thinking he was still at full strenght and possibly able to summon Rand to help Grandal had to kill him quickly. Anything less and she runs the risk, as far as she is concerened of having to fight full strenght Asmodean and possibly Rand at the same time. So she kills him quickly and gets the hell out of dodge.
