You responded Hong Kong ... my point has been that in relative terms the Nobles of Medieval times had a better standard of living that modern Chinese peasants. You seem to be romanticizing China of today based on a few experiences in major cosmopolitan centers.
Hong Kong, one of many cities I've been too, happens to be in China. And you still haven't answered my question, have you ever been in China? And by the way, I have been to the rural provinces in China, my vacation in China lasted for over a month for godsake, can you say the same?
You're point really is kind of common knowledge. I could also say the the lifestyle of peasant class during medieval times would suck compared to middle class of modern times, then again that would be completely obvious. But you got to admit, not even Emperor Charlemagne had internet access.
