You've traveled to China extensively? - Edit 2

Do you really think a day laborer in Shanghai is treated the same as some billionaire?

What on earth does that have to do with the Hypothetical fantasy question that was entailed? And when in any of my posts did I ever say they were? Of course they're not treated the same.

Do you think there aren't still sweatshops with children working everyday in these places?

Again, what does that have to do with anything? My answer to the question of whether I would rather live in Medieval Europe or modern day china, is not based on any moral or ethical reasoning. I'm not saying china is the most wonderful place in world, I'm simply saying given my present knowledge, lifestyle, and resources - I'd prefer living in modern day China then in Medieval Europe. I don't understand why that is difficult to comprehend.

Just because you have access to modern niceties when you have wealth doesn't mean everyone does.

So..... am I rich in these hypothetical scenario? If I am, then my answer wouldn't just be yes to China, but FUCK yes.

Not saying Medieval Europe was better, certainly even the wealthiest had more difficult lives than the wealthiest of today (modern technology and all), but the basics are similar ... "haves and have-nots" with very little in the way of a middle class in either modern China or Medieval Europe. I'm pretty sure I'd rather be a Medieval Nobleman than a Chinese short order cook...

So do I get to choose what I want to be if I had pick Medieval Europe or Modern Day China? In that case I'd rather be a billionaire in modern day china than a nobleman in Medieval Europe

You used Hong Kong in your earlier post as a comparison, which is why I pointed out that it is a poor example of the Chinese governance. It's sort of what I envision Ebu Dar becoming ... autonomous from the main rule, but still owing fealty to the Parent government. But I'd be willing to bet there will still be Seekers in Ebu Dar keeping the populace from over extending on their freedoms and making sure Beslan is remaining loyal to Tuon.

First of all, I used Hong Kong because I have friends who live there and I been there many times before. I would have also used Shanghai, Shenzhen, Chongqing too. If Ebu Dar is going to become an equivalent of what Hong Kong is today, then I hope the Seanchan take over Randland cause that would be pretty sweet.
