Largely unavoidable unless Rand wants to stuff her in a sack and sit on her. - Edit 3

Well, Aviendha left herself very vulnerable running off alone - if a smart Forsaken knew what to look out for, she's easy pickings.

Elayne could also be captured. It would be harder in her case. Not because of the guardsmen, because any Forsaken would easily be able to destroy any squad of soldiers or infiltrate the palace with her unaware, but due to the Kin and unknown amounts of Aes Sedai being nearby. Even with all of these advantages, her death wish almost got her killed by a relatively low-level Darkfriend. If any one of the Black Sisters had a signalling ter'angreal to use in just such an opportunity to summon a Forsaken, it would have been curtains for her.

While it's theoretically possible that Elayne could die before her children are born healthy, it's prohibitively unlikely at this stage of her pregnancy and given the medical resources available (channeling included; I wouldn't want to try figuring out the weaves for an incubator, and even then a baby born prior to the seventh month of pregnancy will probably die quickly if it's even born alive).

I'm not saying a Forsaken couldn't off one or all of Rands paramours though, I'm saying that's a dubious route to sucess: It might cause him to behave irrationally, at least in the short term, take risks he otherwise wouldn't, but he's also be out for blood against whoever was responsible. Unless you did a VERY good job framing another Forsaken for it (and even then you could be caught; look what happened to Rahvin when he tried to point Rand at Sammael) it wouldn't materially affect Rands ability, but it WOULD put his hands around your throat faster than you can blink. The last time someone struck at one of Rands girlfriends he channeled balefire at them with the True Power while LTT whimpered in the back of his mind about touching the DO.
