Not really. Brandon confirmed Lews Therin was right. In essence, the True Power and Shai'tan are one and the same thing.
Well, yeah. Still, we have not a clue (AFAIK) about why the DO would be letting Rand use the TP. Nor we have any clue about what is Ishmael up to anyway.
Ruling out (hopefully) they are acting at random, there must be a satisfactory explanation which might or might not include revelations about the TP itself.
Right?
i don't think the DO wants rand to use the TP at all. the rand/moridin link strikes me as one of those 'unique' things like fain.
otoh, after a bit more thought,
"You don't know how close you came to doom," Rand said softly. "If I had come to you but a short time earlier, I'd have returned those slaps with balefire." "Inside the Guardian?" Tenobia sniffed disdainfully. "The Guardian blocks the One Power," Rand whispered. "The One Power only."
doesn't solidly imply he can STILL use the TP. only that he would have used TP balefire 'a short time earlier'.
gods, i wish we had more rand povs T_T
True Power needed to seal away the Dark One?

The true power is the essense of the DO, according to RJ, which makes this highly unlikely. *NM*

I think he was reflecting on how close the DO came to corrupting him.
