They had not known where—or if—the gholam would attack him, but Guybon had done his job well, getting everyone out of the nearby buildings, then picking a hallway that the Kinswoman would make the gateway into. He'd sent a member of the Band to tell Talmanes where to go.

So, the time line is:

* Gholam attacks
* Guybon gets everyone out of the nearby buildings
* Guybon picks a hallway for the gateway
* Talmanes is told where to lure the gholam
* Gholam is lured into the house
* A kinswoman skims from the palace into the hallway

That was actually clearer than I thought it was. Guybon only picked the spot after the gholam attacked. The kinswoman could not have known what spot he would pick before then (unless Elayne suddenly got access to Foretelling and never mentioned it), so she did not have enough time to learn the spot for skimming. Note that she couldn't have travelled to the spot either, because you still need to know your destination to be accurate about where you end up.

The only way the kinswoman could have skimmed to that spot would be to open a skimming gateway from that spot, which was exactly what she was trying to avoid by skimming from the palace in the first place!

Yes, RJ confirmed that Shadowspawn can't survive gateways. *NM* - 24/12/2010 07:39:02 PM 485 Views
And then BS confirmed that gholam are "more perfected" Shadowspawn which can. *NM* - 24/12/2010 08:35:34 PM 488 Views
Read the post I responded too. I know that. - 26/12/2010 11:58:40 AM 1023 Views
Why would them not being able to survive a gateway be a problem? - 26/01/2011 05:36:09 AM 839 Views

They prepared a place, and it just happened to be within walking distance of the attack? - 25/12/2010 09:44:34 AM 925 Views

Likely picked from a handful of pre-determined locations based on where and when the attack occurred - 31/12/2010 08:47:20 PM 981 Views
Perhaps, but I don't think so. - 01/01/2011 01:19:12 AM 807 Views
That would be an error if it hadn't been Skimming (the platform and what not) they were using. - 25/12/2010 02:29:39 AM 887 Views
It is an error because they opened a skimming gateway to the house (from the skimming place) - 25/12/2010 09:47:08 AM 892 Views

I'm confused now as to what you're arguing. They knew the location of the house. - 26/12/2010 08:54:17 PM 868 Views
