While I agree overall, I think this is a case where Rand/TDR mistakes his role

We've seen this even after he became BuddhaRand - he acknowledges that some of his former "opponents" on the side of the Light, such as Siuan, Cadsuane, Egwene, did what they had to do but he still has a blind spot. It seems to me that the Pattern doesn't necessarily want to place him in a position where he dictates his terms to all the world leaders. I think that this meeting will not go the way he pictured it, and it seems that he has been set up for disaster. You had mentioned that the Shadow was aware of his timeline, but I also think that Moridin planned for it. We haven't seen a POV from Moridin regarding BuddhaRand, yet, but I do get the impression that BuddhaRand has an inflated opinion of himself - he keeps thinking this transcendent moment makes him more than mortal and he has been surprised a few times that he gets angry or can be goaded just like before. In some ways, he is even more vulnerable to desperation while Egwene and the others already knew what was at stake.

I think people aren't giving Egwene enough credit.

She's not bringing everyone for a discussion, but for leverage to force him to change his mind.

Sadly, the thing you reference four times isn't actually anywhere in the book.

I think the Tower needs a singular leader, though you may be right.

One problematic issue...This assumes the Dark One cannot hold himself back once the Seals are broken

agreed, it'd also be a terribly boring book to read if the DO was defensive

It's more that you take it out of context

The DO will be forced to act because breaking the seals is inherently an attempt to seal the bore...
