Don't be ridiculous. Then why won't Elayne take the test for Aes Sedai saying that it might harm her babies?

"The pregnancy," Elayne said. "It's interfering with my ability to channel. That's getting better—I could get here, thankfully—but it's still a problem. Explain to the Hall it would be too dangerous for me—and for the babes—to undergo the testing while unable to channel consistently."

"They might suggest you wait," Nynaeve said.

"And let me run around without the oaths?" Elayne said. "Though I would like to know if anyone's taken the oaths while pregnant before, just to be sure."

"I'll find what I can," Egwene said. "Until then, I have another task for you."

"I am rather busy with ruling Andor, Mother."

Her first concern is for herself; she tacks on the "babes" as an afterthought, a sweetener. Who will think of the children, Egwene? This suggests to me that she's trying to evade the entire shebang as long as possible. She doesn't want to turn into Egwene's damane, the way Nynaeve would be about to.

Her plotline in TOM involves significant distancing of herself and Andor from the authority of the White Tower, and this is a part of it.
