That's not what it implied at all. I stated that leadership sets an example for its followers, not that followers are blind. However, the Shaido became very radicalized... they likely would have suppressed anyone who disagreed with their new-age ji'e'toh. Maybe the ordinary people could have done something about it if they rebelled or something, but that's just not how the Aiel do things.
I misconstrued your previous posts. I do disagree though that rebellion is not the way the Aiel do things. The Shaido rebelled against the He-who-comes-with-the-Dawn, the Chief of Chiefs. Not just the Shaido but members of other clans, more and more taken in by the bleakness, disobeying their own Chiefs and Wise Ones. In some ways, their very way of life today is a rebellion against their Ancestors beliefs. However, you're right that the Shaido are pretty radical by Aiel standards.
