what do you mean? these powers have been manifesting for a while! You need to read more closely

If you didn't get Rand's transformation, you're not the intended audience...
IMO, of course.
I'm supposed to believe that 'love' conquered his insanity, removed (or merged) LTT from his mind forever, got rid of the crippling sickness he had every time he seized Saidin, and also gave him 'Light' powers?
PUH LEEZ.
Are you interested in buying a bridge I have for sale?
There has been NO explanation as to why Rand believing in love cured ALL the above problems, NO EXPLANATION. Just buy this bullshit and like it.
Love did not conquer anything or cure his insanity or his sickness etc.. Love was merely the catalyst for a self realization that allowed Rand to access his full potential as the Dragon Reborn. He was having a crisis of faith that kept him limited to simple human abilities. Rand is a Messianic figure and in a way was Reborn on Dragonmount for a 3rd time, this time his power is in his own "faith" rather than the more mundane OP strength.
Once he embraced the truth of being the DR he had access to a wide variety of, now uncorrupted, abilities. Note how he's now vastly stronger in the Power than anyone else rather than being on par with the strongest men. He seems to have some kind of direct control over his ta'veren effect and he is "one with the earth" in truth now, healing the corruption. I believe the same ability that drives Dark Friends insane is what is holding the madness at bay.
Everything you are saying is YOUR OWN extrapolation of the events that occured. This does NOT mean you are right. You are interpreting the events in a way that to you makes sense. However the truth is there is no logical reason from the rules we've seen up till now that should give Rand 'Light Powers'. No reason why his sickness of seizing Saidin disappeared and no reason LTT should have gone away. We dont even know if they merged, or LTT is in Rand's mind 100% or LTT is gone or what!
The only really new "power" here was Rand finding enlightenment and thus being able to accept his role as Dragon. Before his realization he was already showing these powers in corrupted form (such as all the food in AD spoiling) now those corrupting elements have been removed and Rand is accessing the powers of the Dragon.
The wounds in his side have not "magically" vanished. LTT is not gone, but he has ceased to be a second personality inside of and competing with Rand, now LTT exists as a set of memories similar to what Birgitte experiences. Rand says so himself in the book ... he remembers being LTT and living for 400 years, but that he was still Rand al'Thor. We've been expecting this "integration" for several books so it should not be a surprise.
IMO, the sickness vanishing and the DF being unable to look upon him are part of the "glowing lining" Nynaeve discovered in Rand's mind. That lining removed the various affects the taint and Ishamael had placed on his mind over time.
Domani Drag Queen in the White Tower ... Aran'gar watch out!

Yeah, while you're busy not believing that, you should believe in things like the One Power too.
