Being a grand spendthrift conquerer makes you more loved than taking care of your lands sensibly. Ipso facto these gals were doing the right thing.

Q.E.D.

Q.E.D. my ass.
You can love the conquerer more than the economist only as long as you have, you know, food to eat, guards that protect you from brigands, and so on.
If the entire shire falls apart, rest assured that you'll piss on everything he conquered for a loaf of bread.
Stop spreading nonsense, please.

And yet Henry VIII and Luis XIV were loved and honored. I really doubt these Andoran nobles made life for their subjects tougher than those two kings did.

Edit to add - It sounds like their deals with the bankers are are almost identical to how the world crisis in our world came about (as well as Elayne's solution come to think about it).

Notice how people liked Henry VIII more than they liked Henry VII - 01/12/2010 11:15:03 AM 613 Views
because of his "Kingly" behavior, in comparison to VII's lack thereof. - 01/12/2010 08:26:26 PM 672 Views
