So... where is Nynaeve's family? We know that she was born in a nearby village. Does anyone recall any quotes about her parents or siblings? It's kind of strange that she never thinks about them whereas the other characters do at stages.

From the prologue "Ravens" that was added to later editions of TEotW:

"Mistress Barran often praised Nynaeve publicly for being such a quick learner. She had apprenticed Nynaeve three years earlier, after her then-apprentice died of some sickness even Mistress Barran could not cure. Nynaeve had been a recent orphan, and a lot of people said the Wisdom should have sent her to her relatives in the country after her mother died, and taken on someone years older. Egwene's mother did not say so, but Egwene knew she thought it."

In TEoTW, Nynaeve says that before her father died, he taught her how to track and hunt. In FoH she also thinks about her mother:

"When she was twelve, her mother had stopped going through the motions of teaching her to sew, after it became apparent that she did not care whether she sewed a straight seam and could not be made to care."
