If you need to suspend logic for a story to make 'sense', it's definitely the author's fault. A story should be coherent and internally consistent, unless the author is deliberately trying to make it otherwise. But I wouldn't call that part of 'suspension of disbelief'; it's on a lower level than belief or disbelief in the particulars.

What I'm saying is, if the author wants to make the True Source and ta'veren and Good Guys Win trufax in his world, who are you and I to argue? So long as he does it in a consistent way, of course. The metaphysics of a world are just as amenable to change as the physics, or the history.
