This is one thing that NEEDS resolution (based upon Avi's vision) so I have no doubt it will come up in the next book.
Somehow, something happened that led to the Seanchan forgetting about it. Ideally, whatever Aviendha does to rectify the corruption of her people also leads to a reformation of the Seanchan.
It's not as if her vision is a guarantee. I'm assuming it is a potential future, not something immutable. For any of it to take place, Rand has to defeat the Shadow, there are no guarantees there, at least in theory.
The chief difficulty Alice found at first was in managing her flamingo.

It seems clear to me that Rand bowing to the Seanchan Empress is the cause of all the problems...

Hang on, the Seanchan MUST be repelled from Randland. They are invaders.

They aren't invaders. It's explicity explained that they are coming home.

I was out-disturbed by the mass suicide of the Amayar, but this was disturbing in a different way

If only. But it sounds like they're being captured and used to secure power for the Empress.
