TOM (Use a Pebble) - Naeff nodded. The two of them strode forward, creating wind. They shattered buildings, causing them to burst and fall. Naeff was far more skilled at the process than she, but Nynaeve was stronger in the One Power. Together, they swept the crumbling buildings, stones and husks before them in a dust storm.

Naeff is strong in Air, which is rare for a man and very useful because it eliminates an important confounder. What can be deduced from this statement...

1. Nynaeve has no problem directly comparing herself to a man. Considering Nynaeve is not keen on linking with men, it stands to reason that she has no done so with Naeff. She has probably reached her opinion by watching what he's done with the Power and measuring his effective strength. Therefore, Nynaeve has no problem comparing males and females, which means that saidin/saidar aren't so different that comparisons are stupid. The method is different, but the act is probably similar.

2. Strength can be used to match skill. I've had a question in my head for years as to whether Nynaeve could use her extra strength to balance Egwene's strength in Earth. It seems like she CAN, which is reassuring to know. It has a lot of implications (like the fact that you can use an angreal to do something you couldn't otherwise do due to lack of strength in a flow).

To an extent, I doubt Nynaeve could make cuendillar at the same speed as Egwene, if she could do it at all. Honestly, I think it'd be better to say that skill can be used to match strength as we see Lanfear hold her own against Alivia at the cleansing.

3. Nynaeve is probably not very strong in Air if Naeff can exceed her ability.

Nynaeve is well rounded in all 5 powers. Also, Cadsuane's comment about Nynaeve's skill at Healing being amazing and complete lack of knowledge of almost anything else equally amazingly bad. I'm not entirely sure that Naeff isn't just more well rounded at doing things like using Air as a weapon, since the Asha'man are trained with almost no other thought.
Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so.
