Granted, Verin did not know all of them, but Verin knew MOST of them, all of the "big ones" we've found out. Furthermore, I think Verin would have "figured it out" (or just been told) during the time that she spent in Alanna's company. But I may just have too much faith in the awesomeness that is Verin
There is the possibility that Verin didn't know, but I liked the idea that Verin had identified another reluctant B.A. and that is why she left her out of the book of BA names. Alanna is for better or worse, our least intelligent A.S. IMO. She acts impulsively whenever her emotions are in charge and that is like most of the time. (She reminds me of the Forsaken). I think the B.A. could have tripped her up much easier than Verin and of course they were successful in both cases. So Verin found a like minded culprit to handle some of the more damaging tasks being handed down from the shadow (bonding the DR) and she could use the alibi to keep suspicion off her even longer from her true intentions.
By the way, I think all this is pure speculation and I really don't believe there has been enough evidence in the book so far to make a claim one way or another on Alanna.
Where is Alanna?
