A fine fiction, but don't you think you are ignoring some things....? djwilson300 Send a noteboard - 22/11/2010 06:33:59 PM
I really did like the back story to explain Verin's thoughts and actions from TGH to TGS. Truly well thought out.

But don't you think you kinda glossed over a lot of suspect behavior from Alanna from TGH to FOH? She is immediately way too curious about the wonder girls and our male tripod of hope. Jordan obviously loved to make us shocked at who he was going to spring on us as black ajah, like Verin and Sheriam. But sometimes Jordan liked to point us in the right direction as well when it came to identifying BA like Liandrin and Katarina (sp?). You also have Verin clearly warning Perrin in the two rivers about trusting Alanna with everything. Since we know she would have most likely identified by then if Alanna was BA or not (simple hand signal in the hallway), and we know Verin was always working for the light, then why the warning? To keep Perrin from trusting a good intentioned A.S., Why?

I think much like Verin, Alanna was a reluctant Black, either because her instinctual curiosity led her into the wrong crowd, or because her passionate nature made her make a bad decision at some point in the past. (Like bonding a man destined to go mad and die). Alanna IMO is going to find a way into our last battle, and I would be shocked to see her standing on the light side. This bonding of Rand hasn't served its full purpose yet, and her ability to hang in the story with little impact just screams to me that Jordan did this with a major impact in mind but it keeps getting pushed back as his story expanded.

And as far as my answer to why Alanna exited stage left just before Rands new ability. Well lets see, Min clearly can sense the difference within Rand thru the bond and it is more than just a mood shift. Now BA can not even look at him, what is going on inside Alanna if she is Black and has that light inside her mind. It might make her weep maybe? If you were Alanna and you could sense that, and knew you were a spy for the BA. Wouldn't you reconsider your position of hanging around the Dragon Reborn's closest allies? I still think she is more a pawn by now and was collected by SH (hence no weaves), but I don't see any reason why she needs to get an explanation of his power from another DF.

No, she's not clearly Black Ajah, and I highly doubt she is. - 21/11/2010 07:14:23 AM 941 Views
