And even if I'm not remembering correctly, and it was just a generic "Rand will be in danger" thing, Perrin didn't DO anything. He just sort of witnessed Rand's epihany. Rand didn't even know Perrin was there.


Perhaps Perrin's taveren ability was just enough to give Rand that little push he needed?

I think so too, remember Min's firefly viewing - Rand on his own, the Lights get swallowed by the darkness. Rand with Mat or Perrin, they hold their own and all three together, the Lights push back the darkness. Rand was described as being consumed by darkness on the mountaintop, Perrin's presence I think helped hold that darkness off just long enough for Rand to have his epiphany and save himself. If Perrin wasn't there Rand would have given in and destroyed himself again.
