ToM (wounds)- 'Mesaana, black cloth swirling about her. Egwene gritted her teeth and sent herself away. She didn't dare face the woman directly...she did not look imposing, but she was very strong in the Power.'
This isn't an attempt to rattle the sabre, but I think this once again reinforces the pronounced gap between Mesaana and Egwene in strength. It echoes her earlier statement in the series about her inability to face Moghedien, but I think its even more specific. Some posters may disagree, but I think that Egwene shows clear awe for Mesaana's strength and is not just below her in power but considerably lower as I hypothesize.

Defeat her because Mesaana is no warrior. She was an administrator. Egwene is very confident that she can face Mesaana and win... She flat out says she can do it.
