Having a Forsaken nudge Byar sort of cheapened it all, IMO.

I just don't see compulsion underlying Byar's actions. From the first book he was fanatical in his hatred for Perrin, unable to see or even contemplate reason. Mix that with his brush with Fain in the Two Rivers, it is classic Faintaint. Whitecloaks were always susceptible to that Mordeth evil, and Byar being one of the more fanatical, especially so. It's a wonder Bornhold was free of that taint and was able to come back to the light, so to speak.

No need for compulsion, Byar's hatred mixed with Faintaint and all is explained. Greandal meant Galad I think.

Why having other Forsaken at all? Slayer and Moridin should've been enough. *NM* - 11/11/2010 11:33:04 PM 453 Views
