I think it's Toveine, and not Tarna, that's bonded to Logain. Zaphod Send a noteboard - 07/11/2010 07:12:17 PM
Whats the dealyo with the kamehama Rand unleashed at Maradon on the trolloc horde. I was able to read the book in about 6 hours and am planning a reread but I don't recall mention of him having an angreal of any sort. This scene was vastly different than the earlier Trolloc attack at the secluded Tairen estate. The destruction of the Choedan Kal does not seem particularly relevant now that his own power level is over 9000.

Also was anyone surprised by the death of Nicola at the white tower battle in TAR. I thought I remember Min having some viewings about her as well as her own personnel foretelling. Seemed kind of odd just to kill her out of the blue at random. I didn't figure her for a red shirt but oh well. There is also the bit with the death of Carlinya where another vision did not come to fruition or at least not directly. Also isn't Tarna bonded to Logaine? Wouldn't he have felt it when she said yes to the "If you only knew the power of the dark side!" conversion? Also where are whats their faces, those two accepted raised to aes sedai by Egwene who were originally in Salidar?

First off, I cracked up when you said power level over 9000. I love it.

To go from there, I that Rand has now gone beyond normal channeler status. There are obviously things going on with him that cannot be explained (like his ability to see DFs by looking in their eyes and his glowing mind under the madness when Nynaeve tried to Heal him). So my guess is that he's just superpowerful now, with the OP.

As to Nicola and Carlinya, I have little idea. I don't remember the stuff with Nicola; the vision of Carlinya getting a tattoo could have come true off screen (it doesn't seem like the kind of thing that would be important enough to be shown at this juncture in the series).

Tarna is NOT bonded to Logain, as far as I can recall. She showed up at the Black Tower after Logain left and went to Rand. The women who are bonded by A'M were all ones who took part in the attack on the Black Tower. Tarna was part of the group that went there to bond A'M for the WT.
