Maybe I'm the only person in the world, but books 7-9 were actually quite enjoyable. Winter's Heart was actually quite good; the showdown at Shadar Logoth was amazing.
Now, I completely agree with everyone's complaints about Crossroads of Twilight. It was really obvious then that RJ was scrambling to pull these obscure threads together to lead everything up to Knife of Dreams and (at the time) A Memory in Light.
I personally think BS's writing style fits with the two books so far. The end is coming, and very quickly, and while Knife of Dreams had that feel, it was still boggy compared to tGS and ToM (not to say I didn't enjoy KoD, because I did, though it may have just been because CoT was so bad). Anyway, now I'm rambling. Sorry.
