LTT is considered responsible for the taint and breaking of the world, so that isn't going to help his case at all.
The problem with talking about it is that Rand does not actually know how to reseal the DO, he just knows that it starts with breaking the seals. Rand plans on doing this as a first move in the last battle whether or not he has figured out what else he must do. It doesn't really make any logical sense to anyone, even Perrin who will support him with it.
