My take after a very quick read on the scene where Rand destroys the Shadowspawn is not that he has suddenly become super powerfull bur rather that he is now very very fast and precise with his weaves. Rand at 100% of his power is pretty powerful but now he can tie off weaves and start more weaves then tie them off and start more etc.

Its a bit like a machinge gun effect rather than a nuclear strike
