Can't say I felt much like gloating over something I've found terribly obvious by a straightforward process of elimination (it had to be a Chosen Asmodean bumped into by accident since this was a murder of opportunity, and the suspect list had withered down to Graendal or Mesaana books ago - and no clue ever pointed to Mesaana, a few pointed to Graendal incl. the one in TFOH about his knowing her whereabouts, which got repeated in TGS by Rand) , but I'd be really dishonest if I said I didn't laughed out loud when Graendal told Etzel's "great assassin" who in his mind she would have trusted to go kill a fellow Chosen for her : "don't talk back to a Chosen, dog".

That put Slayer in the proper place in regard to Graendal we've argued was his all these years As if she would have trusted anyone to kill another Chosen at her orders, let alone a non-channeller agent known by all the other Chosen.

I couldn't help but find it hilarious that purely by accident Slayer in a scheme orchestrated by Graendal ended up causing Mesaana's demise in a collateral damage sort of way.
