I never really understood this part of the story. I mean, I suppose if their entire plan was to convert him to the shadow, then that's just fine, but it always seemed a little silly to me. Also, when Ishy fought Rand in the first two books, why didn't he ever use the one power? I mean, if I were honestly trying to kill the dude, I'd just blow him up. Maybe I'm really a moron and missing something here. If so, please tell me, because this really ruins my whole suspension of disbelief deal.
