It's still a waste of a good opportunity for a cool storyline...

As Graendal had remarked, Mesaana was a second rate Forsaken who basically surrounded herself with a mob of female channelers lead by a powerful t'a'veren-affected Dreamer to lead them. I'm not surprised she was dragged down by someone with a stronger will.

I know Egwene must always triumph and be the "bestest evah!" at everything, but I think RJ and BS missed out on an extremely cool opportunity to have the Forsaken do something of worth for once. Mesaana was known for her ability to recruit young ones to her cause - I think the whole thing would've been far more interesting if the novices and Accepted had been recruited to the Shadow via Mesaana and done something really cool like destroying the Tower library without anyone having known how it happened. It would've been cool to find out that they followed Egwene not because she's so "awesome" but because that's what Mesaana ordered them to do so no one would suspect them (Egwene is the type to dismiss anyone who worships her as 'safe'. Yet another blown opportunity in the name of ramming Egwene down our throats again. *sigh*

I think we knew how Mesaana would go down once TGS was done
