The one known rapist was, by his own admission, committing a crime against their standards. Cannoli Send a noteboard - 20/10/2010 09:05:55 PM
Hooray for the torturing, raping, murderous inquisition answerable to no one, I guess.
Compared to the not-illegal-but-morally-equivalent-to-if-not-worse-than-rape practice of bonding warders against their will. By the admission of everyone, up to and including Valda and Asunawa, the rape would be a horrible crime according to the Children.

As for the other crimes you attribute to them, the only known case of murder by the Children was by the same renegade officer and rapist. If you are going to judge the Children by Valda, why not judge the Tower by Elaida? Or if you are going to judge the Children by Carridin, you must judge the Tower by the Black Ajah! At leas there is no "Black Legion" among the Children of the Light.
Finally, as we plainly see, the Tower too practices torture, including torture of petty criminals to harass them into leaving town! The only rules the Tower has regarding torture is that it is limited in how far you can torture one of their own, EVEN an admitted Darkfriend. A Child of the Light as manifestly guilty as some of the captive Black sisters we have seen in the series would NOT be treated nearly so gently.

Why don't you actually look beyond the blather of prejudiced characters before you start casting stones that apply equally to the side you defend! At least the Children are acting in the name of the Light and the greater good, while the Tower serves nothing but itself.
