I don't think this is the big unnoticed thing, but it surely qualifies as a great idea that I haven't heard before. That is the most reasonable explanation for how Rand can die and live again. You have earned one cookie for your effort.
And another cookie from me. I would not be surprised at all if this is what happens. It sounds very...logical and definitely plausible.
