True. I'm just saying that this late in the story it would serve little purpose. - Edit 1

Sammael was a good bad guy for Rand to focus on in the middle of the series, but at this point I don't see what plot value another obsessed hater will bring. Demandred is enough on that front.

I never really liked that Sammael died off screen and the only confirmation wen had of his death was from the author, but it also seems RJ was definitive in his comments.

Yes, he'll hate Rand, but he hated him anyway, and on a level that was incomparable to Demandred's.

He's a master general and a specialist in defense. I would choose him almost above any other Forsaken to reincarnate.

He hates Rand more, he is at least as good a general, he was probably stronger in the Power too. Sammael was the warm up act IMO. Bringing Sammael back at this point would be just a move to bolster FS numbers, wouldn't add to the story.

Two generals are obviously better than one. In Lews Therin's final days they said that Demandred, Be'lal and Sammael were cornering him in Paaren Disen. Obviously the threat is less if it's just Demandred.

Why not bring back gainer again so you have a noter Powerful Channeler to face Rand? Because his role in the story is over and there is no good reason to bring him back. Same thing with Sammael. He was there to drive the middle part of the story. He's served his purpose in the story.

If RJ had intended him to come back he obviously would be a powerful general for the DO. I just see that as what RJ had planned ... Else why the "toast" comment.
