RJ may have had an educated nobleman or woman use such words in their style of speaking.

But for the narrator to use it feels incorrect.

Also in the context of some farmer out in the fields.

Anyway, it struck me along with the direct reference to tradewinds - so now we know the Aryth Ocean is the Atlantic - and when he said the wind was playing with the masts of ships.

RJ would have said the wind was swaying the masts of the ships, or something else. "Playing with" feels wrong.

So I'm over critical. So what. It feels wrong.
