Mat/Tuon, and the Rand stuff was good. The rest, esp. Elayne was blech beetnemesis Send a noteboard - 12/09/2009 07:37:44 PM
The problem I have with the Elayne stuff is that it takes up a ton of space... and yet 1. Not much happens and 2. I don't really give a damn about Andor's politics.

Above, Dragonsworn mentioned that the later books are all about the plot being zoomed out to a worldwide scale. That's fine! No problem with that. However, Andor is a dinky little country, and there's pretty much a zero percent chance that it's going to end up as a Stronghold for the Shadow.

Even if Elayne died, it's extremely unlikely that Andor wouldn't ally with Rand. First, he's shown how easily he can take over. Second, he's actually done pretty well with Andor! Other than the faux-pas of saying he'll "give" the throne to Elayne, and having a foreign army on Andor soil, people can't complain too much.

I think my point is that no matter how the Andor plot proceeds, it's pretty much a foregone conclusion that it is Light territory. Cairhein and Tear have (had) rebels, the Seancean hold much of the west, the Borderlanders are grouchy because no one's paying attention to them, Taim has his Black Tower, the Forsaken are everywhere, Fain is still out there...

There are a lot more interesting things to read about, that's all!

(Also I disliked CoT because it only progressed events by like, a day, and mostly just showed reactions to what happened in WH. KoD did a much better job of... well, everything IMO.)
I amuse myself.
