You could say that. The domination band is far older than the a'dam used by the Seanchan, which is why they are not identical technologies. They are similar in what they do, but they accomplish it in different ways. It is like technology developing at different times in different areas of the world without any communication - there is no original inventor, because the idea itself was realized by multiple people. There are multiple techniques for making a net for example and there is no "original" or "best" way.



I assume that during the Breaking it was used to contain male channelers and force them into Links in order to combat other male channelers. I believe the emotional effect is a byproduct of using it but not necessarily a residue. Maybe channeling into it triggers extreme depression and lethargy - very useful for preventing aggressive thoughts from taking shape.



No, I don't think so. But we also don't know if the DO is using the True Power against the seals. Keep in mind that the DO has powers that exceed what we know of as the True Power, just as the Pattern can be considered an expression of the Creators' life force, yet the One Power accessible to mortals is a shadow of the Creators' ultimate power. The DO, for example, can switch souls, pull souls into inanimate objects and effect reality on a massive scale, but these things seem to have nothing to do with the TP. We just don't know.



The reason cuendillar is being destroyed has more to do with the Dark One's effect on reality and less to do with some outward agent. Whitebridge and Tar Valon are constructed out of cuendillar in certain parts, and those structures are still sound. The only things of cuendillar that are failing are the anchors to the DO's prison which indicates that this is a localized effect.



I don't think so. I think the nature of the One Power being tied to the Pattern makes permanence a possibility with it's effects, whereas the True Power is about raw power being channeled to make whatever you want happen instantaneously. We don't ever see something "tied off" with the True Power, and I think it's because that isn't possible with it.
