When Mat gets the ball rolling for BOTH, he does so in the name of Rand. When he convinced Aludra to come with him and make her dragons for him, he cites Rand to prove he can make good on his promise, and he first rallies Talmanes, Daerid and company to fight together "in the name of the Lord Dragon."

And the Illuminators are an example of not-good organizations, since they spent how many centuries living apart, engaging in thuggish behavior to maintain their monopoly on the fireworks industry and refusing to cooperate with anyone for any reason but their own enrichment. Pedron Niall did not believe that they would even be willing to accomodate the rulers of a nation that took them in when they fled Tarabon. Only Aludra saw the possibilities of a weapon, and the Illuminators needed to be smashed in order to allow her the freedom to carry such plans out.

The Kin are only useful for the little Healing they give in Ebou Dar, and spend much more energy on their futile efforts to stay hidden and serve as a judas goat to help the Tower maintain their unjust monopoly of the One Power. Unlike most other groups, at least the Children of the Light do not outlaw other people doing their work too!
