I remember both characters being pretty good POV reading when I read the series the first time, but the more I reread the less I like these characters. I think Nynaeve may actually be MORE annoying than Faile. She's still entertaining me, at least.

I'd say that Nynaeve can be more annoying than Faile at times, but yes, I like both the characters myself. Nynaeve certainly had her annoying moments, but fighting Moghedien, helping Rand with the Cleansing, and raising the Golden Crane for Lan more than make up for her annoyance factors. Plus she's good for comic relief at times, like telling Elayne that only ninnies think they can get anywhere with threats.
Faile is sometimes immature, but she's also the youngest of the females. Yet, she's still more mature and level-headed then some of them at times. She's also very much devoted to Perrin, and does what she can to help him, even if it means going behind his back.
I find Elayne and Egwene to be more annoying then these two. Egwene has improved a little bit, but Elayne really hasn't done anything to make me like her. Even her work on ter'angreal is overshadowed by everything else that I don't like.
