Faile, love aside, has a very balanced, educated and experienced POV. More than many WoT grrls.

IF NOT MORE SO???
I remember both characters being pretty good POV reading when I read the series the first time, but the more I reread the less I like these characters. I think Nynaeve may actually be MORE annoying than Faile. She's still entertaining me, at least.

Kiera and some others make great points. My two cents:
Egwene was the mayor's daughter, worked in the inn, spun wool, and kept all the other girls away from the guy she wanted (cause he was the most exotic). Her attitudes have been so petulant that she's "missed the point" of whatever was going on - that's when you've got problems. She has so many good qualities, but likes to praise herself and can act horribly superior.
Nynaeve spent all her time caring for wounded and trying to help her people. Such responsibility is impressive. She's also industrious, brave, and willing to do what's right. Still, she truly earned my despise with her incessant bullying. She would have the occasional moment of normalcy, but she was so bad when she was bad (and so often so) that I couldn't really stand her. I have a respectful attitude toward her sudden maturity of the past two books.
Min was tending horses, loving older guys, and reading the future. That last certainly matures someone a bunch, and she could display that a lot.
Faile was well-educated and took the mantle of responsibility at a young age. When she talks to Perrin about other things - both early on and now - she often displays a practical understanding of life and the World. She can see how things are, and accept that that's what works, or that's what people will push for, things like that. And really, that alone can always set Faile far below Nynaeve in nuisance factor. She actually and often acts like a real person without too many glaring emotional problems that they can't help but display around others. Then she gets into the issues with her man and she sounds like a crafty, sneaky, super-crazypants nutjob. So it is with many people.
Faile is actually very much like early Min at times (sensible, clever, experienced), and also has a lot in common with Elayne (who I'm surprised she never met before the books). I get the feeling that if Elayne had to work the hardest out of all the Wot grrls, Faile would come in second place (it's hard to measure, but that's my guess). Faile is courageous and has none of the advantages that many of the other WoT women have. She can be a pain, but I seldom struggle to remember that she's worthwhile to read, as I have with some of the other people I have mentioned.
Anybody else think Nynaeve is easily as annoying as Faile?

Nynaeve was ruined by Egwene's rise to authority over her.
