Um wait...where did we get the idea that Rand is channeling the true power? Don't think I agree with that one...
The only TP channelers we know of are Rand and Moridin. As such this has to mean that either does something unique with TP.
Moridin has been pretty quiet recently, preparing for the end in the blight. But maybe now that his failure to drive Rand into complete insanity has failed, he will take on a more active approach and start attacking the light in some other way. TP would give him an advantage due to its complete undetectability, and if anyone knows all the special TP tricks its him.
Or it could be that despite his return to sanity, Rand will still use TP again for some reason. Hard to imagine what that reason would be though. Maybe without CK to counterbalance the draw, he will give in to the desire to experience TP. Or maybe there will be some great emergency where he cannot use OP.
One possibility that has occurred to me before is that now that Rand is sane, he might be willing to risk meeting the borderlanders in Far Madding. If it turns out that they are working for the shadow, then TP would be the only means Rand would have to fight them off. Ofcourse there is always the possibility that someone will put another male a'dam around his neck, forcing a repeat of the Semirhage incident. Any other reasons Rand would use TP?
Q: @BrandonSandrson thanks for replying! Did Mr.Jordan list out what the TP can/not do relative to the OP? are there limits to both?
A: @Azral_Joe RAFO. Maybe we'll put some of that in the encyclopedia. They are certainly different. TofM has some hints.
Interesting, I wonder what this means and how it applies to the TofM plot.
