He shall hold a blade of light in his hands, and the three shall be one.
Now, looking at this as if it was not a vague prophecy, "the three" sounds like three referred to previously. The three I see here in this sentence are "a blade", and "his hands".
Wait... wait. Wait. "Hands". Rand does not have hands, he has hand. Could this actually be someone else wielding Callandor?
This could be a hint that Rand will not use Callandor.
It could also be that Rand will take over Moridins body as suggested by the bodyswitch theory and have two hands again. Or that the "hands" in the prophecy is said figuratively and that Rand will use his single hand to wield callandor.
Actually, were Mat and Perrin not referred to as Rands "hands" in a CoT prophecy. Maybe the bizarre link between them will increase to the point that Mat and/or Perrin will hold Callandor and Rand will still be able to use it because at that point the color-link has grown so strong that the hands of his friends are basically his hands.

Another major longshot: 3 = the OP, TP, and Mordeth's power. No clue how they would become one. *NM*

I like your style, but you discounted one possibility way too easily
