... even if your soul comes back, you are still dead. In the nature versus nurture debate, I have no idea where a soul is supposed to come in, but you'll be an entirely different individual.
So you don't have to worry about rotting in a grave in an eternity of nothingness. Nor do you have to worry about being rewarded or punished in an afterlife. You just re-spawn elsewhere.
None of the Forsaken will pay for their crimes. Semirhage will be reincarnated as an ignorant girl who tends sheep. So will her victims. Doesn't that just make you all warm inside?

Is the death penalty something you consider too lenient?
Not that I attach much value to 'paying for crimes', I don't see that as being something of importance, but I'm a bit confused regarding your statement.
Death is especially impotent in their cases. They are reincarnated AND they remember everything. It's all very unfair.
After all, if they lose, they'll die for good, and if they win, Shai'tan will destroy existence, which presumably includes the Forsaken

Frankly, they have chosen poorly.
The first rule of being a ninja is "do no harm". Unless you intend to do harm, then do lots of harm.
