I like them for when I want to read but can't physically read

I purchased TFoH on audiobook recently to see how it was. I hated it.
I can't stand audiobooks either. The only decent ones I've ever heard were read by great actors.
The few audiobooks I've heard were all atrocious. I've hated all the WOT ones I've listened to a bit. Flat, boring and distracting - the reading and tone of both the man and woman annoyed me completely. I'm really puzzled that some people love those (and audiobooks in general). To me, this is a format I'd love if I were blind, but otherwise it's really not something for me.
Like on long drives or doing housework or when I'm on the treadmill.

I've only heard the first few that had a man and a woman switching chapters.
