Regarding "Far Dareis Mai" ... - Edit 1

Before modification by Shishka at 18/06/2010 05:40:15 PM

I think the word-by-word translation is:

Far = To (implying some sort of "connection" or "association", I suspect)
Dareis = Spear
Mai = Maidins

Because, we have another similar phrase, "Far Aldazar Din", which means "Brothers of the Eagle".

We know "Aldazar" = Eagle (from Carai an caldazar).

Therefore, "Far" must be the prepostion in both cases (since it cannot mean both Maidins and Brothers).
Therefore "Din" = Brothers, and "Mai" = Maidins.

So, the literal translation of both would be something like:

[Connected/associated] to Spear Maidins
[Connected/associated] to Eagle Brothers

Which then translate to the less awkward:

Maidins of the Spear
Brothers of the Eagle

Something like that ...
