Re: The beauty of a re-read is that there are so many little gems I'd forgotten Sidious Send a noteboard - 17/06/2010 04:43:48 PM

Yes I forgot about Moghedien being a species of spider. Be'lal is probably the Envious, and even Moiraine makes it plain that it was his strong trait.

Semirhage may be the Lady of Pain, or perhaps crudely translated it would be the Woman of Agony or something.

Demandred has many possibilities. My first choice would be 'the Covetor', but another strong possibility is the 'False Prophet' because he was a potential Dragon, who went rogue.

Mesaana's probably centered on revenge, Graendal's on lust, and Asmodean on 'Unfulfilled Talent' or perhaps something directly surrounding his music.

Next Door to a Weaver

The carving seemed an odd choice - what people around Ebou Dar called the Thirteen Sins; a man with eyes that nearly filled his whole face for Envy, a fellow with his tongue hanging to his ankles for Gossip, a snarling, sharp-toothed man clutching coins to his chest for Greed, and so on

I wonder if these "13 Sins" are somehow a 3000 year old reminder of the FS ... just a random thought :)

Indeed. Another one is the saying that if there's sunshine while it rains, the Dark One is beating Semirhage. Later Semirhage really was beaten. LOL
