Silviana made them both go and shield her all night.
Yes... when did I say anything different? Silviana did make them both go, but Katerine felt both were not required, that Barasine alone was enough. Sid said that was because of the Forkroot, but the Forkroot would wear off by the morning. It was already wearing off.
Since Katerine seems to think Barasine is enough, and Silviana only puts two women in for the job because she thinks Egwene is tricky, its clear the Reds think Egwene can be held by one of them.

Prologue
Katerine and Barasine were startled to say the least at hearing Elaida’s plans for Egwene, and not best pleased to learn that they would be watching her and shielding her while she slept, although Silviana told them she would arrange for other sisters to come after an hour or two.
“Why both of us?” Katerine wanted to know, which earned her a wry glance from Barasine. If only one were sent, it surely would not be Katerine, who stood higher.
“Firstly, because I said so.” Silviana waited until the other two Reds nodded in acceptance. They did so with obvious reluctance, but not enough to make her wait long. She had not put on her shawl to come into the hallway, and in some odd fashion, she seemed the one out of place.
“And secondly, because this child is tricky, I think. I want her watched carefully awake or asleep. Which of you has her ring?”
Katerine and Barasine go on to Egwene's room with her and stay the night.

Or are replaced by two more. I don't see why you're telling me all this. You're only reinforcing my point.
Even Leane has two guards at all times, even if only one is holding her shield.
Yes, but in this case both women are holding Egwene's shield.
In the thread I responded too you said Silviana said one woman would do to shield Egwene, which she did not say.
Katerine complains that she must go while Egwene is still on Forkroot. Note the shielded her in shifts all night long, with two women, which Katerine doesn't complain about, just her personal involvement. Basically Katerine is trying to say "she's have dead from Forkroot, why do I need to escort her to her bed and waste more of my time when at this point Beresine alone can clearly manage it".
I don't know how you think this reinforces your point that one woman alone could hold Egwene's shield. The entire time (except the 5 minutes with Silviana) Egwene is captive she has two holding it even when she's on Forkroot!
I don't understand what you are arguing here... it seems very obvious that Egwene cannot be reliably held by 1 AS unless she's as strong as Romanda/Lelaine. If Amys can't hold it for more than a few minutes I very much doubt any AS below Sheriam could.
